I was a pastor and teacher for twenty years until 1996 when I was diagnosed with MS and had to leave the ministry. I now live in a beautiful harbor town on the Bay of Fundy. When I am able, I try my hand at printmaking. I’m married, and since my wife is a musician I am surrounded with the joy of music. We have two children who live and work in Toronto. Since we live by the water, I have developed a love for all things nautical and have become addicted to nautical literature. You can’t live in my town without developing an appreciation for the wonders of the natural world.
The Beggar Danced is about trusting God when nothing seems to go right. Life is difficult and discouragement comes easy. To have hope takes a lot of strength and courage. Sometimes we just need a little encouragement to know we are not alone. The title for the blog is based on the third chapter of Acts. There is a beggar at the gate called Beautiful who has been lame since birth and every day he sits with his hand out and his head down asking for alms. Nothing about his routine has changed for years and then one day Peter and John enter his life and everything changes. One moment he is unable to walk and the next moment he is dancing through the temple court. Through this blog I hope we can encourage each other to dance again. Be courageous, be strong. No regrets, no retreat.
